WELCOME TO ANIMALS FIRST! Where diversity, ideas and thinking out of the box have value! We are short on rules, but mainly be respectful and learn to accept that others have opposing viewpoints... and be over 18 years of age. Most of all, have fun!

We are here to promote RESPONSIBLE pet guardianship, proper care and nutrition for our animals, and to act as a voice for those who have no voice.

MODERATORS:
Site Admin: Belles
Admin: Renee
Moderators: Andrea, Barbara, Dixie, Lani

RULES MADE SIMPLE:
1. Treat each other with respect and recognize that we are all individuals with different opinions. Disagreeing with someone's opinion is not against the rules, but learning when to let the argument go is a behavior that we can all learn to accept.
2. No flamers, spammers, trolls, bullies, or basic mean people.
3. All discussions in the Forum should be animal related. For other discussions of a general nature, please post them in the group, Sidewalk Cafe.
4. Please, we don't need or want a ton of excess groups. If you wish to start your own group, contact one of the moderators and we'll get back to you.
5. Most all members are adults, but there are a couple of exceptions to the rules. Keep in mind that not everyone likes to see the "F Bomb" and seriously, if you can't string together a sentence without alot of curse words, then perhaps you should reconsider your reply or post. Therefore, watch the language.. we're pretty liberal here and don't mind a bit of off-color humor, but consider others before you reply. Use the language appropriate for your children, your parents, your neighbors.. you'll be just fine here if you do.
6. Religion and politics are generally not good topics for social networking. Therefore keep your beliefs to yourself!
7. Blogs are meant for you to enjoy.. create your own, have fun and most of all..
8. Have fun!

Tea Tree Danger to Felines

I brought Missy in for her annual checkup with our favorite vet Dr. Pilch. I learned she had lost about a pound and a half, which is a lot for a little under 10 pound critter

. He also said her heart was beating much faster then expected even considering fear from being there. He felt it was something metabolic, mentioned maybe diabetes or something with her thyroid, so Missy donated some urine and blood and we waited over the long weekend to find what was wrong. Why things always… Continue

'Tilly's Tale', Thinking Christmas?

Please forgive the shameless plug, but, with Christmas about to loom large in everyone's thoughts, I'd like to drop in a quick plug for my award-winning children's book, Tilly's Tale, written under my Harry Porter pseudonym. Now, when I say childrens' book, I have to admit that it was written in such a style as to appeal to 'kids' from 8 -99, and it appears as many adults as children have bought it and enjoyed it. Tilly's Tale won the Preditors & Editors 'Best Children's book, 2009 Award,…See More

MESSAGE FROM TILLY - WE'VE GOT A PUPPY!

Hello everyone, Wow, did we all get a surprise on Friday. Harry and the family went out for a while and when he returned, guess what? When Harry let us all out of the house into the garden, what should be there, waiting for us to meet, but a beautiful little puppy. MUTTLEY is 18 weeks old and one of a litter of 9 Staffordshire Bull Terriers who were left at The Mayflower Sanctuary soon after they were born. Muttley was something of the runt of the litter, and no one had shown any interest in hm…See More

From Tilly - We Were All So Sad, Then Along Came Dinky and Henry

Hello everyone,After all the sad things that have happened here in recent weeks, it's so nice to have some good news again. Harry and Mum were so depressed, and the children were so upset after losing 4 members of our pack, that this week, Harry and Mum went to the Dog Pound to see the nice people there, and guess what? Yay! We have 2 new pack members. Dinky and Henry are both little crossbreeds, and very quiet dogs, one of the things Harry specifically looked for when he and Mum went to the…See More

A Very Sad Message from Tilly, Saying Goodbye to some friends

Hello everyone,I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while, but so much has happened in the last couple of weeks and I have to admit that I'm the saddest Tilly in the world right now. It all began three Saturdays ago on the way back from training. Me, Dylan, Sheba and Xuxa were in the back of the car, as usual, the others all lying down and me sanding up looking out of the…See More

A Message from Tilly - Please Welcome Xuxa to our Pack

Hello again everyone,Hope you like my latest picture, here. As it's World Cup time, Harry thought I might like to show off some of my ball skills. As you can see, I have a pretty good grip on the ball, (unlike England's unfortunate goalkeeper the other night!). Hey, how about Tilly for England!!What a lovely, sunny day it is today. Guess what? We have another new arrival in our…See More

Tilly at the dog show

We had a great time on Sunday, when we took Tilly, Dylan, Mimi and Snoopy to a Fun Dog Show, held in order to raise funds for The Mayflower Sanctuary, where we adopted Tilly from. Everyone enjoyed it and Tilly won 2 rosettes, one for 3rd place in 'Dog with the Waggiest Tail' and one fro 4th place in 'The Dog with the X Factor'. Mimi got a 3rd place in 'Best Rescue Bitch' and Snoopy was runner up in 'Most Handsome Dog'. The dogs all received goody bags for taking part and we're looking forward…See More
